Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Spring has arrived in Dubuque and we are preparing for graduation and the advent of our summer programs.  This year we have 4 graduates receiving the Master of Arts in Missional Christianity, 39 graduates receiving the Master of Divinity, and 6 graduates receiving the Doctor of Ministry.  We rejoice with our graduates in this milestone and thank God for the gifts they bring to the church.

Even as we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates, we are accepting applications for the Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Missional Christianity degree programs for the 2014-15 academic year.  Both of these degrees are offered on campus and online. If you are considering theological education, or if you know of someone who should be considering theological education, please call Kimberly Burnett-Hackbarth, Director of Admissions, at 800-369-UDTS or email her at

Additionally, three online M.Div. courses will be offered this summer: Reformed Theology, Worship in the Reformed Tradition, and Presbyterian Polity.  These twelve-week classes start June 2.  To apply, or for more information, contact Dana Weitz at or 800-369-UDTS.

Finally, we have significant upcoming opportunities for Commissioned Ruling Elders.  On June 2 three online CRE courses (suitable for all laity) will begin: Introduction to the Old Testament, Introduction to the New Testament, and Presbyterian Polity.  For more information or to register please contact Carla Gibbons at  or 563-589-3630.  Also, June 12-14, we will be hosting the Fourth Annual National Commissioned Ruling Elder Conference on the campus of UDTS.  In addition to plenary lectures and time for fellowship, basic and advanced CRE courses will be offered.  For more information or to register contact Bridgett Boone at 563-589-3691.

I thank you for your support of the seminary and pray God’s richest blessing on you and yours.

Bradley Longfield
Dean and Professor of Church History
